I’ve lived in NYC (one year) and visited many times, but usually find myself flummoxed when it comes to seeing the city. More often than not, I walk through the Village, Chinatown and/or Little Italy, stopping in a bar or two along the way, and then I go home. Perhaps because the city is so overwhelming I end up doing something completely underwhelming. This books reminds me of all the gems I’m missing out on — a drink at the Rainbow Room, cocktails at Dorothy Parker’s Algonquin and a tour of the United Nations. Last time I went to NYC, I brought this book and had a fabulous time!
